3 Days Gorilla Trekking

This 3days Gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park in Uganda starts and ends in Kigali, Rwanda. The journey takes about 4 to 5 hours via Katuna Boarder and offers great views of the magnificent Kigezi hills and highlands in Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is Uganda’s most visited safari destination as it is home to the largest number of endangered mountain gorillas. It also has over 23 habituated gorilla families, the largest number in the region, attracting millions of tourists. The park is not only home to mountain gorillas but also over 120 mammals, 200 tree species and a veritable birding destination

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi

You will be met by our guide in Kigali who will then drive you to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with lunch en route. The drive takes about 4-5 hours to Bwindi and passes through the Katuna border in Kabale, you will be amazed by the stunning views of Rwanda’s rolling hills, terraced farms, landscapes and many more. Upon arrival, you will check in at the lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking

A gorilla safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a dream for almost every traveler and has been hailed by some as the best wildlife experience in the world. Gorilla trekking starts at 8am. After our early breakfast we head to the park with our packed lunch for a briefing. Led by our expert rangers, the trek can last from 3 to 8 hours depending on where the gorillas will be on a given day after the trek you shall later relax at the lodge.

Day 3: Departure

After your breakfast at the lodge, you can do a boat ride on lake Bunyonyi and visit the islands, thereafter set out for your return journey to Kigali. You will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight. This day marks the end of the trip.
