This Trip starts and ends in Uganda. While on this trip you will be able to enjoy the abundant wildlife of Queen Elizabeth National park, lake Mburo National park, the Primates of Kibale and the mountain gorillas of Bwindi National park.
You will be picked from the airport by a tour guide from the company who will then take you to your hotel to rest and refresh from the Journey.
Shoebill tracking is best done early in the morning, so you will have an early breakfast at the lodge and head out to mabamba swamp in such of the Shoebill after lunch you will be transferred to Kibale, the primate capital of the world.
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will head to Kibale headquarters where you will have a briefing and a ranger will be assigned to guide you throughout the chimpanzee trek. Hiking with the chimpanzees can last about 3 to 4 hours in total. After the trek, you will have lunch then visit the community and the Bigodi swamp. Rich in biodiversity and scenic beauty, the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary is a must-visit. A 4.5km walk will take you through this important wildlife corridor of Kibale Forest and will take up to 3hours.This wonderful place is home to over 200 species of birds, including hornbills, turacos, parrots, cranes, kingfishers and many other endemic marsh species. In addition, the sanctuary is home to 8 species of primates, including the black and white colobus, red colobus, red-tailed monkey, gray-cheeked mangabey, baboon olive, the host monkey, the vervet monkey and the blue monkey.
This day, after your breakfast, you will head to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is known for its abundant wildlife including, Elephants, Buffalos, Ugandan kobs, hippopotamus, topi, waterbucks, warthogs, giant pigs, Nile crocodiles, leopards, spotted hyenas, chimpanzees and lions. In total, the park is home to 95 species of mammals and more than 600 species of birds. On arrival you will have lunch do a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel to observe wild animals coming to drink in the heat of the afternoon and proceed with an evening game drive.
This day you will do a game drive in the Kanshenyi sector and then transfer to Ishasha still in Queen Elizabeth National park. Game drives in Queen Elizabeth are very interesting and memorable and are best done very early in the morning or late in the afternoon. you will therefore have the chance to see many animals, which is always a wonderful experience.
This day, after your breakfast, you will head to the park for a morning game drive and then transfer to Bwindi. Game viewing in the Ishasha area mainly focuses on watching the unique tree climbing lions. Lions are normally seen lazily reclining in the branches of huge fig trees, observing the many Ugandan Kobs that graze on the open plains of Ishasha and these are in fact their main prey. Depending on luck, you may be able to spot them during the safari. Dinner and night at the lodge
A gorilla safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a dream for almost every traveler and has been hailed by some as the best wildlife experience in the world. Gorilla trekking starts at 8am. After our early breakfast we head to the park with our packed lunch for a briefing. Led by our expert rangers, the trek can last from 3 to 8 hours depending on where the gorillas will be on a given day after the trek you shall later relax at the lodge. Dinner and night at the lodge
After your breakfast, you will leave for Lake Mburo National Park. Upon arrival, you will have lunch and prepare for a night game drive. Lake Mburo is one of the few parks where you can go on a night safari! At night there are a variety of animals that you would not see during the day, particularly bush pigs, genets, white-tailed mongooses, just to mention but a few. Night walks also give you the best chance of finding leopards, spotted hyenas and there is a male lion in the park which resides on the edge of Lake Mburo itself. It's an interesting experience at night with a searchlight, an unusual variation of regular safaris. Dinner and night at the lodge
Early in the morning, you will go on a safari walk inside the park accompanied by a game ranger where you will be able to see different animals mainly giraffes, antelopes and zebras. After the walk you will depart to Entebbe for your flight back home. Along the way you will stop at the Equator for lunch and some photos.
